Historically Authentic Spectacles   

Spectacles.  The frames of our spectacles should "pass muster" at any reenactment, no matter how strictly juried.  Those with clear lenses were originally manufactured as reading glasses, but are designed so that you can have your prescription lenses installed by your own optometrist.  The smoked lenses make excellent sunglasses.  Frames available in either gold or pewter (please specify your preference).  Only $25.00.  (G)

Personal Hygiene

Castile soap.  Castile soap was often the first item purchased by frontiersmen returning from a long hunt, especially Simon Girty.  Our 4.5 oz bars are made in Alaska.   Although Castile soap does not produce as much lather as modern bar soap, it produces lather in cold, salt or hard water (mineral water, not ice).   $3.50 ea. Horn Combs keep you tidy in historically authentic fashion.  Only $5.50 each (G)

Bone handled, boar-bristle toothbrush helps ensure good oral hygiene in a historically authentic manner.  Only $10.50 (G)

Games and Diversions

Reproduction Eighteenth Century Playing Cards:  Historically authentic 52 card deck is even authentically packaged, including the appropriately sealed stamp to show payment of the Crown's tax.  $19.50. (P)

Reproduction 1802 Playing Cards:  Deck of 52 playing cards reproduced after a deck manufactured in France in 1802.  Good quality cards for the reasonable price of only $12.00. (G)

Wooden Dominoes:  In describing life at a Hudson’s Bay Company fort, H. M. Robinson gave a fairly thorough account of the manner in which time was passed.  He wrote “With the younger portion of the community – the clerks, apprentices and post-masters – conversation and the peaceful pipe occupy a prominent position in the passage of time.  Games, too, are in great demand, and every apartment possesses its well-thumbed pack of cards, its rude cribbage board, and sets of wooden dominoes.  Our historically authentic dominoes, in an attractive wooden box are only $3.00.  (G)
